The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 require the Duty Holder not only to identify and assess the asbestos materials in their premises, but to manage the risks from any asbestos and have a management plan in place.
What is a Duty Holder?
The Duty Holder as defined by the Regulations is "anyone who has by virtue of tenancy or contract a resposnibility for the maintenance of a property or access and egress to or form that property.
If you are own your own property, manage property on behalf of your clients or are a tennant you are likely to be the Duty Holder under these regulations.
